In the Philippines, Plan works with children and their families in the poor communities with programs covering education, child and youth engagement, health (including water and environmental sanitation), and child protection. Plan International invites highly competent, experienced and committed professionals to fill the following position:
Area Manager for Luzon/Mindanao (1), Based in Makati City
The incumbent will lead, organize and develop strategic direction to multiple and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a synchronized program implementation that is aligned to Plans vision, mission, goals, and child-centered community development approach (CCCDA). He/she should build sustainable strategic alliances at the regional level. Qualifications: Advanced degree in Social Science, Development Studies, International Relations or Public Administration, Development Economics or Management or other relevant courses with strong background on program management is required. At least 10 years in development work with 5 years of solid experience in managerial role preferably in a social development setting; strong operational and financial planning abilities supported by high level of computer skill; and proven effective management skills leading teams across several locations and operating in a cross cultural structure are desirable. Has willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions. Has the ability to make quick decisions (transparency is also important) and demonstrates strong leadership skills with good oral and written communication abilities. Having worked with a child-centered and/or sponsorship organization is an advantage but not a condition.
