‘To Whom It May Concern:
Tam pleased to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Ray Thacker who
‘was my capstone-nursing student at the Veterans Administration Medical Center
(VAMC) in Salt Lake City. Ihave had the pleasure of knowing Ray on a professional
level, working beside him during his 184-hour tenure in the Same Day Surgery and
Recovery (PACU) unit.
Ray has been very professional in his personal manner with all of our patients and
has demonstrated his abilities in critical thinking skills as well as tactical skills as a nurse.
Ray has demonstrated how an education from a renowned school such as Westminster
College, plays such an important role in preparing someone for the field of nursing. His
education, coupled with his many years of experience in the emergency medical field as a
Paramedic, has given him the skill set to handle difficult situations, being insightful and
sensitive; able to foresee the needs of the individuals patients and co-workers, and sets
him apart from an average candidate. Ray enthusiastically embraces opportunities to
continue his education and keep up to date on growth and changes in the medical field
Ray brings a great sense of humor to the table, which adds to his great rapport
with his colleagues. I found him very easy to work with and I give him high marks for
interpersonal relationships and being a team player. He is always punctual and reliable.
He accepts constructive criticism very well and without offence, learning from the
‘experience, and again, wanting to better himself in the medical field.
Ray’s direct supervisors, including multiple nurses and nurse supervisors, at
VAMC as well as supervisors at Westminster College are enthusiastic supporters of him.
Tam fully confident that Ray will be a strong asset to any medical unit. I offer this,
recommendation of him without any reservation.
