Annotated Bibliography
1. Key Word: Math and daily life, Math and Success, Importance of Math, Math and adult
life.
I chose these key words because I am researching the importance of math in our daily
lives. My target audience is adults who are not in school. These key words helped me
narrow the search results and find useful resources. Since my focus audience is adults, I
chose words like adult life, and success. To incorporate the everyday aspect of the
research I included words like daily life. It really helped me find specific resources.

3. For my inquiry project, I am using different resources: articles, tv show, online video, and
interviews. I found an article online called Math is Important. This article talked about
how math enables different opportunities for us and that it is skill that is considered a
luxury. Another article called MATH = Success had similar points and it indicated that
knowing math helps us use new technologies and it increases our involvement, and that
people who lack this skill find it hard to succeed in their career. I also thought including
some episodes from a TV series called NUMB3RS (in which the main character uses
math to solve criminal cases) will also help me make my point stronger. It basically
shows that math has various uses and sometimes we use math in our daily lives without
our knowledge. I am also using a YouTube video called Real life Math that shows
different ways in which we use math in our daily lives. Lastly, I will be doing a research

by interviewing five people who are 18 years old or above and who are not currently
students. I will ask questions to understand the importance of math in their daily lives.
These resources will focus on the daily activities that involve math.
