Poem

By William Blake
A Poison Tree
I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.
And I watered it in fears
Night & morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.
And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,
And into my garden stole,
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretch beneath the tree.

Summary
This poem teach us not to hold your grudges towards others.If u have something such as
dissatisfaction, jealousy, just tell the other person.The poet suggest in the poem that
sharing your bad feelings with the one you are angry, will cause the bad feelings to
disappear. On the other hand, holding a grudge will only make it grow more powerful. It
might also become worst and you ended up to hate that person even though he/she had no
idea about their mistakes.

This also apply in our friendship where honesty is really an important part of it. We
always shared most everything with our friends, more than we shared with our family
members. Why not we share the bad ones too?. IF there are something which we feel its
not right or we dont like it,just tell our friends in a good way. That will help to strengthen
the relationship.
