Dear Professional Blog Partner,

Each Central senior is required to create a career blog on which they create an on-line persona and post
the work they do to explore their career goals, the technical and professional aspects of a career that
interests them, as well as some of the writing assignments that they do to analyze both informational
and literary texts.
The student blogs are designed to be an electronic communications portfolio for their high school work,
as well as help them prepare to use the internet to communicate in college and career. Additionally, the
blog is intended to make students aware of their cyber image and the impact it may have on their
future.
Your partnership with the student will place you into the role of professional audience, giving the
student the motivation to consider what they say and how they say it. Your feedback and input through
comments on the students blog will challenge the student to consider the elements of their chosen
profession in new ways by giving a realistic vision of job related expectations and issues that you
encounter.
Thank you for taking the time to help a Central High School student better prepare for the career that
they have chosen. Their cyber interaction with you will clear up questions that they may have and set
them on the path to achieving their career goals. Realistically, your participation should require no more
than 20 minutes a week.
