Beyond-the-Basic Productivity Tool Used: We will use Timeliner XE to create a
series of significant events during Csar Chvez lifetime.
Standards Addressed: SS3H2 The student will discuss the lives of Americans who
expanded peoples rights and freedoms in a democracy.

Description of how to implement in the class: Students will interpret and use
timelines to map out Cesar Chavezs life. Students will use the internet and books to
find important facts about Cesar Chavez's life. Students write the facts in the text
boxes and organize them appropriately according to the dates of the events.
Students will search for corresponding images of Cesar Chavez and specific events
and paste or insert them into the timeline.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): Since students will be using the
software themselves to create a timeline of their own we will be reaching a LoTi level
4. If I were able to publish their work on the class blog or website we would be
reaching a LoTi level 5.
Description of the sample BBPT file provided: I will be attaching an example of
the timeline the students will create of Csar Chvezs life and the important events
that occurred to make a real difference in the lives of others.
Other comments about your proposed BBPT Activity: Using Timeliner XE is a
great way to put a new spin on basic timelines. It makes the process more enjoyable
for the students and they can add neat pictures and organize events easily.
