TwoprofessionalgoalsIhavearetoexploreandutilizemoreassessment

methodsforincludingalllearnersinmyclassroom,andtocontinueasalifelonglearner
followingmygraduationfromMontanaStateUniversity.Thesetwogoalsarechosen
basedonreflectionsmadeduringmystudentteachingexperienceaswellasthebeliefs
ofmyselfandmyfutureschooldistrict.
Therearemanymethodsandpracticesofassessmentavailable,andfinding
effectiveassessmentsthatsatisfiesmeasascienceeducatorhasprovenchallenging
duringmytimestudentteaching.IplantousetheMSULibrarywebsitetoperusethe
variousjournalarticlesandtextsregardingassessmentmethodsanddifferentiationand
createadocumenthighlightingthemethodsIthinkwouldbenefitmyclass.Ithenhope
toutilizesomeofthesemethodsduringmyfirstyearofteachingandanalyzetheir
effectiveness.
Asfarascontinuingtobealifelonglearner,IrecentlyacquiredmultipleDVDs
regardingbiologyfromtheHowardHughesMedicalInstitutewebsite,aswellassome
textsandDVDsconcerningphysicsandastronomy,andhaveplanstowatchandlearn
fromtheseresourcesduringthesummerandthroughoutmytimeasaneducator.Iam
intheprocessofsigningupforseveralpublicationsthatcankeepmeinformedonthe
breakthroughsinscience.Thisallowsmetokeepmylessonsrelevantandinterestingto
students.IhavealsobecomeamemberoftheNationalScienceTeacherAssociation,
whichsendsmeregularemailswithscientificresourcesIcanuseinmyclassroom.
