My name is Bethany Kirkpatrick and I have been a music educator and choral director for twenty-five years. It
was my privilege this year to work with Ms. Kara LaRochelle as her mentor. Kara is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Music Education. She worked with my middle school students in both
a general music and choral setting. Kara did a great job relating to the often finicky middle school student. She
created music-centered lesson plans that were both interesting and informative. Karas lessons are based on
solid musical knowledge and feature activities structured around many learning styles.
In the choral classroom, Kara directed both section rehearsals as well as the full, eighty-five member chorus.
The full chorus can be a daunting task for the most experienced music teacher, and Kara was able to manage it
very well.
As you consider Kara for the teaching position to which she has applied, please know that she has a great passion for music education, a solid foundation in performance, as well as creative lesson plans. I believe she would
