Assignments

This was the final assessment. Students have worked on their

presentations for weeks. They have researched and created
notecards about each source. They planned their speech and
created an outline on a notecard. They practiced at home, with
partners, and with small groups before the final presentation.

Other Notes:

After each pair presented, two students were selected to be the teachers.
They called on other students for positive feedback for each presenter. The
teacher used this time to finalize scores and write comments on the rubrics.
Students were engaged with the entire process. They always had something to
be doing. The atmosphere was very supportive. Students seemed proud to
present their final arguments. This lesson was a great example of a long-term
project coming together in a final assessment.
