In addition to the content, it is a course | use and encourage the students to use, to determine whether or not a career in teaching is a good choice for them. | do so, by incorporating elements that are part and parcel of a successful teaching career. Ms. Gerardi was punctual; her attendance was excellent. Class activities went far beyond lecture/taking notes; they included group projects that tested the student's ability to work well with others, to be creative, and to present a strong classroom presence. A required oral presentation tested and honed the student's ability to speak well in front of an audience. Two exams, always Essay in style, required students to actually connect theory to practice, and to so-illustrate that they understood principles of teaching and their relationship to in- classroom dynamics with students. | have deliberately here, presented the background against which Ms. Gerardi, not only earned an A (a fair number of students do so), but demonstrated an unusual level of attainment in ALL of the above.
