AB Introduction

Behavioral Objective
Students will be able to identify the A and B sections in Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah and will be able to
successfully complete the 16th note review game.

Materials
1. Rhythm Sheets for Warmup
2. Room for the Dinosaur Dance

Procedure
1. Review Du-Tah-De-Tah
2. Put some example rhythms on the board from the sheets I have
-8ths
-16ths
-Quarters
3. Have students come choose 4 sheets and add what rhythm they want
-4/4
4. Listen to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah
5. Ask students to listen for completely different sections
-Not just different words

6. Point out the 2 different sections


-Call them A and B
7. Have students try and sing along with the song
8. Play the song Dinosaur Dance
9. Have the students do the dance moves that are associated with the song

Assessment
Students will be assessed based on their ability to clap/say the rhythms that are posted on the board as
well as their ability to recognize the 2 separate sections in Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah.
