Mid-Term Reflection
I came into this writing class knowing all of what it is considered
inside a classroom to be the correct way to write. I can write almost
any research paper with little to no issues but during this course Ive
learned that there are still so many ways I can improve as a writer.
Throughout this course so far Ive found myself writing much more
casually, as if it was seamless. Everything just started to flow much
more naturally from the thoughts in my head to the words in a
document. I believe this has the most to do with the free-writing weve
been doing at the beginning of each and every class period. It has
really helped me become a more relaxed and casual writer and it feels
pretty good. I like not having to stress about writing. All I have to do
now is write down whatever comes to mind then I can just go back and
make the necessary revisions later on.
I believe that my greatest strength as a writer is my sentence
structure and how fast I can put my thoughts together. Ive always had
a natural talent for this but ever since Ive been doing the free-writing,
this has improved exponentially. My greatest weakness is definitely my
procrastination. I just never find myself ahead on anything. At the start

of this semester, I made it a point to be ahead on everything and to

keep up with all my work and, like always, I failed to keep that up for
longer than three weeks. The only sure-fire way for me to improve in
this class is to actually start being proactive and getting all my work
ahead of time as opposed to what Ive been doing for years in a vicious
cycle of incomplete assignments.
The things that I have learned and will continue to learn
throughout the duration of this course will definitely carry on to other
courses. This class is all about improving ourselves as writers and
every course typically involves one, if not multiple, large scale writing
assignment. Ill be able to use my knowledge of writing strategies to
make any writing assignment a breeze.
The only thing that I feel as if I need you to explain again and go
into more detail is the prezi map things. I dont understand it and have
tried on several occasions and couldnt get it to work for me.
