AUTONOMOUS LEARNING PROJECTS
1. SS create a glossary of terms related to the Travel and Tourism
Industry. Ss decide whether to create a hard copy similar to a
vocabulary notebook or an e-glossary. Terms must have a
definition of each term. Ss decide on the organization,
classification, and layout using their own creativity.
2. Activity 2 on p. 45 in the Student book. Ss compare websites that
consumers regularly use to book flights. The must answer the
questions about each website and draw conclusions. SS will give
a presentation based on what they have found.
3. Activity 1 on p. 91 in the student book. Ss visit a lodging property
and answer the questions about the place visited. Ss give a
presentation sharing their findings and conclusions.
4. Ss research about franchises in the lodging industry (services
offered, standards, etc), and work with the Questionnaire
Franchise Marriott to develop a plan for a future Franchise
(www.marriottdevelopment.com). Ss have to support why they
think their proposal would be admitted. (Find document in
Other resources folder).
