You will see listed in the enclosed resume, my background in education is extensive and increasing. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Special Education. As an ED education specialist in a K-2 special day class I have become knowledgeable in IEP development and implementation as well as effectively working with students on the Autistic spectrum while maintaining a positive and engaging climate for learning. I am versed in positive behavior management systems, social and emotional guidance, equitable curriculum building, lesson differentiating, and parental communication. Through my experience as an education specialist, differentiation assistant and a reading tutor, I have worked with students who were above and below grade level standards, which gave me the opportunity to develop my use of assessments, interventions and accommodations in whole and small homogenous and heterogeneous groupings. My past has taught me that my positive attitude, hard work, dedication and perseverance help when working with diverse ranges of learning abilities and student behaviors. This genuine connection will help students foster a joy of learning, address personal issues and change their behavior so that they are ready for a less restrictive environment and the real world.
