Today we are going to be making a series of threedimensional pacman ghosts in illustrator!

Step 1: Open a new document in the size 8.5 in. (height) by 15 in. (width).
Before we start the tutorial you will have to turn on your grids in illustrator to
make it easier for you to make the ghosts symmetrical. You do this by going
into Edit > Preferences > Guides & Grid. In the Preferences dialogue box
change the Grid options to Gridline every 20px (0.28 in) and Subdivisions to
1
and click OK.

Step 2: To display the grid that weve just created go to the View menu and
select Show Grid. Using the Edit menu again make sure that Snap to Grid is
also selected (SHIFT+CTRL+), this will help us to accurately align our
objects to the grid.

Step 3: Now, this is an easy step but it may

seem complicated. Just set your fill to NONE
and use your pen tool to make the outline of
your ghost on your grid and then fill with a
pink color of your choice. (the color I used is
pictured here)

*This should be your end result after step 3

Step 4: Next, using the same pen tool technique, make white eyes with a
deep blue pupil. Any color will do. (The one I used is pictured below.)

*This should be your result after step 4

Step 5: Before we make things pop, group your ghost parts together and
copy and paste him 3 more times (we want 4 ghosts total), then ungroup all
of your ghosts and change their colors. I did mine in a pastel theme, I will

show the colors I used below.

step 5

Step 6: Now we will be making our ghosts three-dimensional! First, select

each ghosts whole body (one at a time) and group it by going to object >
group for each one. After that is done, you can stop right there OR you can
get on to the fun part of the tutorial. Select all four of your ghosts and go to
effects > 3D > Extrude and Bevel and it will open an options panel that looks
like this:

after step 6
the values
dialogue box

be your result
