democracy

History of Namibia
In 1889, twenty-five german troops, which
was lead by Curt Von FranJoise invaded
Namibia and took over and made a fortress.
This made it a new military style country. The
germans were never fully in control.
Namibian citizens started to rebel and many
germans died. This caused a war between
germany and Namibia. This was also known
as world war one. About 60% of Namibian
citizens died. Thats why not that many
people who live in Namibia are actually

Germans soon found that Namibia's only
useful landmark was it's river. Namibia was
kinda like a dessert so it wasn't good for
farming. After this Namibians were used as
workers and slaves but they rebelled and
eventually the germans retreated. Namibia
then got independence.

After Imperialism
In 1948 The National Party Gained Power
In South Africa Was Led By The Afrikaner.
They Began Living In An Apartheid,Which
Means To Live Separate,In The Early
1950s and 1960s.
Most Residents Had To Move Out Of
Windhoek City Because It Began To Be A
"White Only" City.
The "Colored" Namibians Were Divided
About The Black Namibians.

Connection to Martin Luther king


Through the late 1800s in Namibia, occurred
one of the first uprisings against the German
imperialist.
One of the most legendary leaders of the
Nama people of these uprisings was Hendrik
Witbooi (known as the captain who disappears in
the grass) Just like Martin Luther, he protested
against the German imperialists, but leaded
rebellions against them.

The Hunger Games is connected to imperialism
through the process as to which as the capital
has taken over the 12 districts, which was once

the government, shifted into fighting for their
lives in games that make children kill each other.

Present Days in Namibia


Today imperialism still affects Namibia in a
negative way by people not having things
that they would have today. There would
have been more schools, different ways to
get the things they need like food and water.
The population would have been better if
imperialism wouldn't have happened.
