PROPERTY.

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE

Learning objective: To understand and verify that measures of angles opposite

to equal sides of an isosceles triangle are equal.
Previous knowledge: Identifying base angles and vertex angles of an isosceles
triangle.
Materials Required: Scrap book sheet, protractor, Scissors
Procedure:
Step 1) Take a rectangular shaped scrap book sheet and fold it in half.
Step 2) Use a straight edge to draw a line from the fold to bottom edge.
Step 3) Cut along the line to form an Isosceles triangle.
Step4)
Unfold and label the angles. Use a protractor to measure the base
angles.
Observations:
Name of the base angles: ______________________
Measurement of the base angles: ___________________
Conclusion:
The measures of angles opposite to the equal sides of an isosceles triangle are
equal. That is the measures of base angles of an Isosceles triangles are equal.
