Hannah Truitt successfully completed eight weeks of Early Childhood Student Teaching at the University of Wisconsin Platteville Children’s Center in Platteville, Wisconsin. Throughout the first few weeks Hannah came to know each child by name and personality. Hannah did a wonderful job of developing relationships with her students. She planned, created, and taught a variety of lessons including a four week Autumn Unit. She understands the time and effort that it takes outside of the schoo! day to plan and prepare for lessons. Hannah did a wonderful job of planning for instruction. She always came prepared for her lessons and submitted her plans for review before teaching them. She accessed various resources to include the internet and local libraries in order to select appropriate learning opportunities for the students. Hannah often evaluated the student’s learning while teaching and made appropriate adjustments naturally. She did an exceptional job of ‘ying in the classroom learning with the children’s real world experiences. Hannah is a very dedicated and competent teacher. The students and I enjoyed working with her immensely. She continually worked at promoting and developing positive self-images with her students. Hannah undetstood the importance of flexibility when working with preschoolers. Over the past eight weeks Hannah continued to evaluate her classroom management style and was always looking for new ways to transition the students throughout the day. She is able to handle various situations quickly and appropriately. Hannah maintained a professional, mature relationship with other faculty members at the Children’s Center. Working with Hannah was like working with a fellow team member. She accepted responsibilities quickly and proved to have a natural ability to teach. I am confident that Hannah will do very well in the field of education. She will be an excellent addition to any teaching staff.
