MULTI-MEDIA AUTHORING TEMPLATE

PART A: Students could create their own video to teach their classmates about a particular topic. For example, in this lesson,
the students will be creating a video about Leonardo da Vinci. They will display his inventions and paintings in a visually
pleasing and informative way.

Brief Description of Learning Experience: The students will be making their very own movie
using Movie Maker! The teacher will guide the students and show them an example movie to get them
started. The students will pick their how historical art figure to do research and get prior approval from
me before proceeding with the completion of their projects. The students will complete their movie in a
professional manner. The students will keep in mind that persons will be viewing their movie who could
possibly have no knowledge of the subject and should make sure their references used in their movie
is accurate and clear. The students will be given two weeks to complete their movies and will be
evaluated by me on the completion and quality of their Movie.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: Level 5 of the Loti is used during this activity because the
students will be creating and publishing their own work.
Importance of technology: The technology is very important in this lesson. The point of the activity
is to allow the students to teach their classmates in a non-traditional way. The students will become
experts on the topic they are teaching, and will be very proud of the work they have created using this
technology.
Inspiration: Students will be inspired to create a movie based on their own research.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: There are always risks when the students in your class will
be using the internet to do research. I will discuss with my class some basic internet safety tips before
we begin. I will also send home a permission slip to have the parents sign, giving permission to use the
internet and to publish their finished work. They will not use their real names as well.
