The purpose of this exit portfolio is to explain how I am a dedicated professional,

instructional leader, continuous assessor, educational advocate, collaborative bridge builder, and
reflective decision maker. Throughout my internships at Pangborn Elementary School, I had the
opportunity to strengthen these qualities through multiple means. I was able to be a part of
multiple meetings, school-wide and county-wide, that taught me how to understand students
from poverty, collaborate with team members and the community, take on leadership roles, and
use data to drive instruction. I integrated three thematic units, which tracked the students
progress and used multiple assessments and forms of teaching to accommodate all learners.
I was mentored by two seasoned teachers, who were incredible teachers and had many
tools in their teaching tool belt. I frequently asked them to share with me as many tools as
possible, which strengthened my teaching ability. I collaborated with more than just my mentor
teachers; I asked administration, lead teachers, and my classmates for advice and strategies to
implement in my teaching. Through these multiple collaborations, I tried new techniques that
not only built my confidence as a teacher, but positively impacted my students. I collaborated
with others about the use of technology in the classroom and about ways I can do formative
assessments using technology. After each lesson, I reflected on my experiences and pointed out
the strengths and weaknesses. I spent a great deal of time reflecting with my mentors,
supervisors, and administration to collect as much feedback as possible to improve my teaching
skills.
This exit portfolio showcases the work I have done over the course of my two
internships. Along with data on student growth and examples of student work, I have included
feedback I have received from administration about my teaching and how I have reflected to
strengthen my skills as a teacher.
