Week 3: 2/19/15

School Policies & Procedures

1. Teachers must immediately contact the school social worker regarding reported or suspected
abuse. The social worker will take over from there.
2. If a student begins having a seizure, the teacher immediately moves things out of the way to
provide a clear space and tries to place something under the students head. At the same time,
the teacher has a student contact emergency personnel.
3. Teachers are not allowed to give students medication of any kind.
4. Mr. Holman: The school has procedures for them; it depends on the kind of extreme
emergency. Each classroom also has a mini poster that reviews lockdown procedures.
5. If students begin fighting, the teacher notifies the administration and campus police. While
waiting for the appropriate persons to respond, the teacher should try to intervene and/or do
crowd control.
