I served as ‘one of Megan’s university supervisors and also taught EDUC 650: Reflective Teaching through Field Experience, in which she was enrolled. Megan played an active role in our seminar discussions in regards to teaching and learning, was very accepting of constructive feedback, and applied suggestions readily in order to improve on her practices. | have truly enjoyed supervising and watching her mature in her teaching abilities. Within the professional development school context, Megan had the opportunity to work closely with her mentor teacher, university faculty, and other teaching interns to explor of teaching and learning, and to consider connections between educational theory and practice. Recently, | had the opportunity to observe Megan teaching a lesson through storytelling. She presented new vocabulary through enthusiastic role-playing and proceeded to incorporate the essential content into a story. It was such an engaging and authentic way for students to learn and gain fluency in the target language. ues Because of her creativity and enthusiasm for the subject, students respond positively to her lessons. Megan’s lessons demonstrate confidence in her ability to have all students be successful learners and participants, which promotes confidence and a higher level of self- esteem in her students. Her lessons are delivered with clear and concise directions, and she utilizes instructional techniques that encourage communication in Spanish. Not only is she able to plan instruction that is engaging and developmentally appropriate, use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor and evaluate student learning, and effectively manage classroom routines and student behavior, but she is also a consummate professional Megan possesses a positive and very enthusiastic personality. She has a wonderful rapport with others, and her ability to connect with people plays a significant role in her achievements. Megan's communication skills, with students, mentor teacher, staff and parents are excellent. She is well dressed, articulate, and always ready with a smile.
