Course Outcomes: Evidence

1. Analyze Rhetorical Situations: Students will analyze the subject, purpose, audience, and
constraints that influence and determine what kind of document (genre) they will write.
After looking at my projects, I would have to say Project one was based on an audience
for my peers, professor and people in the education system. Projects 2 was aimed
towards people in education because of Bill Clintons Big Ideas.

2. Find and Evaluate Information: Students will develop research strategies for their
rhetorical situation, and then gather information from primary and secondary sources;
they will evaluate the sources for quality, validity, and appropriateness for the rhetorical
situation.
For project 1 the information that was used was from Platos The Allegory of the Cave.
I used http://www.sparknotes.com/philosophy/republic/section7.rhtml which had a lot
of information and this website was able to help me understand what I was reading. For project
2 I used http://www2.ed.gov/nclb/overview/importance/nclb5anniversary.html. This
website contributed to most of my information that I needed to complete my project.

3. Compose Documents: Students will develop strategies for generating content, organizing
it into a logical structure, and otherwise shaping it to address the needs of their audience
within particular disciplines.
The strategies I used for Project 3 were education is to set our expectations for students
in the beginning of the year, quality over quantity, time management and structure.
And from Project 2 During his presentation in his Big Ideas video, Clinton gives an
analogy of Colon Powells army and his three units which are in the army. Out of those
three units in the army, two are his best shooting and the third unit could not hit the broad
side of a barn. Clinton then proceeds to say, do we give all three units 5 tests, cut army
funding or figure out where they can shoot and get them the help they need.

4. Present Documents: Students will edit and revise their writing to provide clear meaning
and coherent structure; they will use effective document and paragraph structure,
documentation and genre conventions, and document design to create a rhetorically
complete presentation.
To present my Project 1 I did a PowerPoint on my views of how Plato came across
education. For Project 3 I used a capzales.com to create a multimedia presentation with
music in the background.
