Belief Statement
As a School Counselor I Believe:
All students can learn and can be motivated to learn regardless of their developmental
capacity.
The developmental needs of students can be addressed by making sure that counselors
meet every student at some point and time within the first three to four weeks of school.
I must be a leader, collaborator and one who is always striving to reach growth, not only
for myself but for every student that I am involved with.
Counselors, Teachers and Principals should be involved in the planning, managing,
delivery and the evaluation of all program activities.
Data should be discussed and used to set goals for a counseling program to have success.
We should all abide by the Ethical Standards that are set by the American School
Counselors Association (ASCA) which allows the proper development of each and every
student.

Vision Statement
The Students of Tilghman High School are high academic and musical achievers who graduate
with skills that have prepared them to transition to colleges or careers of their choice. They are
academically, socially and emotionally prepared to become productive members of society and
will remain prepared for lifes challenges.
