    <h2>Intro:</h2>
    <p>Hello :) I am Gabriela Fernandes. I am currently studying in Mozambique,
    and I take part in the Livro Aberto Service Learning Project. Service Learning to
    me is a special way in which I can express who I am with others living in the
    same community as I am. I enjoy helping less privalaged children and making
    them feel like they have a purpose in life. I am able to do all of this throughout
    the day we as a school spend with local communities (I go to Livro Aberto).</p>

    <p>Globally, "Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that


    integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to
    enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen
    communities" - FAYETTEVILLE State University.</p>

    <p>In Mozambique, Livro Aberto Service Learning Project is a childrens' library


    and Language and Literacy Center. The association is lead/ owned by Mindy
    Brown. Their priority is children, women and individuals with special need in
    order to facilitate their access to library resources. Livro Aberto Project are
    aiming to promote culture and the joy of reading.</p>

    <h2>What we do at Livro Aberto:</h2>


    <p>As soon as we arrive at Livro Aberto, we are split into three groups; English,
    Art and Portugues. Here is what each group does during the day at our Service
    Learning Project: </p>
    <ul>
    <li><b>English</b> - In the English group, we try and teach the children the
    basic words in everyday english. We have tought them the numbers up to 10 and
    together we have taken time to teach them simple animals that they see
    everyday (e.g pig, or dog, or cat etc...). Finally we have read short stories in
    English and explained to them what each word means, and how all the words
    come together to make a story!</li>
    <li><b>Art</b> - In the Art group we drew and colored simple animals. We
    then made play-dough sculptures of the animals and then we made an act using
    the different animals. Our main focus was to create the neccessary props (e.g.
    masks) for the Portuguese group to perform and act out the story of "The
    Enormous Turnip".</li>
    <li><b>Portuguese</b>- In the Portuguese group, our main focus was on
    reading, understanding and acting out the story of "The Enormous Turnip".</li>
