OVERVIEW

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), a line agency of the Department of


Finance (DOF), has Legal Service Divisions to provide the agency
with outmost support to handle legal affairs is conducting to have
Business Process Review. This review is to foresee the issues and
problems encountered by the Legal Service Staff to resist the quality
or state of being weak.
This review will be submitted by the Legal Service to presents its
assessment provided from the three divisions, 1) Law and Litigation
Division, 2) Complaints and Investigation Division and 3) Securities
and Documentation Division focusing on the core functions of the
said service including its roles and responsibilities and flow of
conducting legal advice.
Several data-gathering activities will be conducted from the three
(3) divisions to address the proposed plan from the review that will
be done and the result will be the basis for the recommendation to
provide improvement in the Legal Service.

BACKGROUND
The Legal Service is mainly responsible as acting counsel of the
Bureau of the Treasurer of the Philippines by providing legal advice
and opinion to the agency on matters involving statutes, laws, rules
and regulations affecting the Bureau. In its aspiration to continually
fulfill its role within an ever-changing environment, Legal Service
has to provide its Business Process Review for the appraisal of its
core functions and services.
By providing Business Process Review from Legal Service on its
current situation, the review will consisting of the following phases:
1) The review and redesign of the identity of the Legal Service
2) The development of the system mandates of the Legal
Service, and
3) The improvement of the workforce of the Legal Service.
This review will support a suggested timeline from the
recommendation that will occur on the results from this planning.
Objective
Legal Service aims:
To conduct assessment on the workbook of its services
To develop the legal system mandates usually used in
conducting its services
To improve continuously the roles and responsibilities of the
team
Scope
The Business Process Review will be focused on the assessment
gathered from the Legal Service Divisions about on their core
functions. Survey, meetings and interviews will be conducted in
order to obtain the issues and problems occurred in the services and
other suggestions in the work process will be entertain to facilitate
the hindrances encountered from them.
