Its the simplicity of the pond that I love so much. Theres no flashy
technology or high-priced labels, nothing superficial. Its just real. The birds and the
ducks, the families and the friends. This is all what makes it worth coming here. I
can get away from my not so simple life and pretend like it is for a little bit and that
is what I love. It is my getaway. I feel as though this human experience hasnt
been one with others, but it has been one with myself. I feel like over the course of
these last few weeks, I have gotten to know myself better and explored a new side
of me. A simpler side.
Ive come to be the person that Ive always wanted to be. One who
appreciates the little things in life and is thankful for what she has and not
unthankful for what she doesnt have. I am becoming the person that my Nana was,
though not even close to being the woman she wasI think she would be proud of
me. For who I am and will be and the things that Ive accomplished.
It amazes me how something as simple as a place can change a person.
Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worst, I am just thankful this place
has changed me for the better. I like the simpler side of me.
