‘To Whom It May Concer:
| first became acquainted with Aliyah Cosey atthe beginning of the 2012-2013 school
year when she was enrolled as a student in one of my sophomore English classes. Aliyah soon
Stood out from the crowd in a variety of ways.
Inall aspects of the class, Aliyah showed a desire to learn as much as she could about the subject
matter and to do the best job possible in completing all of her assignments. Her strong
‘motivation, her pride in hee work, and her sense of responsibility were demonstrated by the fact
that all assignments were tuned in, neat and on time.
In general, I found Aliyah to be a model student. She was always punctual, attentive, and
diligent ebout staying on task. She got along wel with all the other students but never let
socialization interfere with assigned activities. Her pleasant nature helped to create a positive
classroom envionment. Aliyah is motivated to be successful. She is willing o put in extra time
land to ask for help in order to complete an assignment. For the past two years, she and some her
friends often visit my classroom during lunch and work on assignments.
Daring her years at Merced High School has eared a 3.0 grade point average in addition to
participating in Link Crew where upperclassmen mentor freshmen, completing community
service hours as part ofthe ASSETS after school program, and working asa sales associate at
Rainbow, a clothing store, as part ofthe Regional Occupational Program.
In conclusion, Aliyah’s enthusiasm, persistence, ability to work well with others, and self
‘motivation would make her an asset in her future
