‘To Whom It May Concern:
| would like to recommend Rachel Frost for a position teaching American Sign
Language (ASL). Rachel was a student in the Department of Disability and
Psychoeducational Studies in the Deaf Studies concentration and Educational Interpreter
Emphasis. She graduated in December of 2012. Rachel took numerous courses with me
ranging from American Sign Language to Deaf Studies and Interpreting. Rachel was also
‘teaching assistant for our deaf faculty in American Sign Language coursework, During
the past year, Rachel was a student in our TEACH Arizona master’s degree program.
She is graduating in May 2015. She took coursework and was.a student teacher at Marana
High School in their ASL program. I have observed her in the classroom approximately
15 times over the past year. Her teaching skills and rapport with the students in the
classroom is outstanding. She is well-organized, uses her humor with students and has
enthusiastically become part of the school. When I am observing her, I can see that
students respect her and that she is enjoying teaching ASL.
Rachel is an absolutely outstanding student, She is conscientious and hard
‘working. Iam impressed with the level of professionalism she exhibits with fellow
students and faculty. Rachel also demonstrates incredible humility. She will tackle any
position or program with enthusiasm and respect.
| would like to emphasize Rache!’s skills in American Sign Language and in
teaching the language. Ihave watched her grow from a signer, to a fabulous interpreter,
and now to an ineredible teacher. Her natural signing ability, teaching skills, her clarity
and her thinking about the language are remarkable, I know that she will utilize these
same skills in teaching position with your organization.
I very highly recommend Rachel for a position teaching ASL. If you have any
