Ever since I was young, my family told me that I was going to be a nurse.

I always
denied it and said that they were crazy, but honestly I loved the idea and knew that
they were right. When I was just a toddler, I remember my parents buying me a
doctor set of toys. Everyone that came into my house was forced into being my
patient. I have always been intrigued by medicine and helping sick people.
My junior year of high school, I decided that I would join the Health Careers program
at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center. My wonderful instructor at the CTC
has taught me so much about nursing, to prepare me for college. I have learned
many skills and medical terminology to get me ahead of the game.
At the beginning of my senior year, I completed my State Tested Nurses Aide
course at the CTC. This allowed me to have clinical experience with real patients. I
will never forget my time spent at Englewood Manor. It felt so amazing when my
resident told me how grateful they were and how wonderful they felt when I helped
them. That was the moment I was absolutely positive that I had found my calling.
I would be extremely grateful to receive this scholarship. Scholarships would be a
huge help in me paying for my own college. I dont want have to rely on my parents
to pay for my schooling. I know that my parents could help me some, but I want to
show them that I did something to help myself. I would really like to keep my debt to
minimum. I would greatly appreciate any scholarships that I can get.
