Dear Colleague,
1am writing this letter to recommend Sara jones for a full-time teaching position in your school
division. Sara is an outstanding student who has completed a rigorous teacher preparation for
elementary teachers. She is currently completing her student teaching and has received excellent
recommendations from her cooperating teachers and College Supervisor. She has participated in
varied practical experiences at Lynchburg College both observing and teaching in elementary
classrooms from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade. In addition, Sara has a long history of.
volunteering in local schools in her hometown and as a camp counselor with children (age three to
eleven),
Her accomplishments at Lynchburg College demonstrate both her academic expertise and her
leadership ability, She is a regular on the Dean's list is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi
and Phi Eta Sigma national and international honor societies. Her leadership is demonstrated in her
roles asa member and Service Chair of Kappa Delta Pi. In this position she organizes, advertises
and carries through on all of the service activities of this honor society.
Sara's communications skills are strong; her ability to take the initiative and her willingness to try
new things and seek advice also make for a competent new teacher. She is quiet but extremely
thoughtful and reflective and her counsel is often sought by her peers. She has served in the
Spiritual Life Office at Lynchburg College each semester and the director will be sad to see Sara and
her dependability and organizational skills graduate.
Thighly recommend Sara Jones and feel confident that she will be an energetic, creative teacher
‘who will do her best to teach the students in her classroom and at the same time be an asset to the
school in general. | would feel very fortunate if Sara taught my twin grandsons.
