PLEASE STRATEGY

Welch (1992) states PLEASE is a meta-cognitive learning strategy to improve the paragraph
writing of students with mild learning disabilities. It is aimed at increasing pre-writing,
planning, compositions and paragraph revision skill.
PLEASE strategy needs teachers scaffolding in its procedure. It is a meta-cognitive strategy
that can be used to teach students with learning disabilities how to write paragraphs. The
strategy uses a first-letter mnemonic to cue students on how to complete a writing test
independently.
