###

Prescribed Burning and Public Awareness is a newly created non-profit group designed to
educate individuals within the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) of northern California about the
benefits of prescribed burning in their regions. A reduction in the severity and frequency of
California wildfires during the current drought creates urgency for the assimilation of this
information and quick changes in land management practices. The goal of PBPA is to educate
individuals in northern California about the benefits of prescribed burning and to encourage
becoming more involved in area land management decisions.
