Marriage equality in the eyes of religion

Though gay marriage is being legalized throughout the U.S., I want to

write about this topic because many Americas are still strongly
opposed to it because either it makes them uncomfortable or it is
against their religion. Well Im interested in learning what reasons in
the major religions it is exactly that say that gay marriage isnt
allowed. I did this same topic in my 1311 class but focused on the
reasons Christianity gave, now I want to learn about the others like
Catholicism, etc,.
