I am writing this letter of support for Maria Graf. I have known Ms. Graf as both an
undergraduate and graduate nursing student and recently as a lab and clinical instructor.
Maria was an extremely dedicated Undergraduate nursing student during her time with us
however we discovered it would be better for her to study for and pass the NCLEX since
she had so many years practicing as a nurse in Peru. She was successful in her efforts to
pass the NCLEX the first time and is now a registered nurse in the United States.
I had the privilege of teaching Ms. Graf in the Undergraduate NUR 328 Evidence-Based
Practice class. Maria was actively engaged with her colleagues and all class projects. Her
attendance was exceptional and she asked appropriate questions, and performed her
group work in a timely manner.
Maria is fluent in both Spanish and English. This skill is a tremendous asset to any
healthcare organization. Not only is Maria fluent but she is a gifted caretaker and
communicator. Her style is warm, mature and very collegial. I find her positive can-do
attitude infectious!
Maria has taught Community Health clinicals in India, Peru and Nicaragua. She is highly
regarded by her College of Nursing, in-county, and student colleagues. She also is a
highly valuable medical surgical instructor at Mercy Medical center.
In summary, Maria Graf would be an asset to any healthcare institution. She is dedicated,
honest and warm with many years of international nursing experiences. She is
multilingual and flexible in her approach. It has been true pleasure to know and work
with her.
