History-Social-Science

Being prepared to teaching history-social science requires to have full knowledge about
history in the community, the state, the country, and, the World. This also requires an
understanding of the different cultures, geography, economics, government, social participation
and civic values. We need to teach students everything that will get them ready for the real word
out there. By teaching the students all of this knowledge we are teaching them study skills,
critical skills, participation skills, and research skills. This will help students also understand how
important is to understand past, present and how chronological place a big part of it. We also
need to teach students that doing research will help them analyze cause and effect, also how to
analyzed primary and secondary sources and how to state an argument and how to find evidence
to support the argument.
My history classes have taught me see history with different eyes and think critically and
understand the past, present, and how chronological place a big part in California, U.S., World
History, and Ancient World and Latin America. I have learned to be more knowledgeable when it
comes to understanding history, geography, and government. In my LBS 375 and History 301
classes have helped me understand how to teach history to my future students in a fun and
engaging way that students could understand it better and learn about the past history and how it
change the world they live in today by doing activities and projects.
My artifact, an interview and a presentation on Community History, is from my History
301: Individual, Family, and Community in Historic Perspective. The interview and presentation
required me to interview a person that immigrated to the United States and her journey that

changed and saved her life. This interview and presentation demonstrates my understanding of
immigration and how different people immigrate for different reason and that California
according to the 4th grade standards has become a home of diverse groups of people. It also
demonstrates my knowledge of the concentrates upon factors that contribute to shaping of
individuals, family, community, and regional history.
