I am writing in regards to the floral clerk job listing I became aware of by my current employer
at Tioga Floral here in Merced. I am applying because I have a large amount of experience and
knowledge of the floral industry which would be beneficial to this job position.

I am interested in this floral clerk position because of my previous experience in the floral
industry. I have been a member of the Merced FFA Floriculture Judging team for the last 3
years. Through this competition team I have studied over 100 flowers, potted plants, and tools
used in the floral industry and have constructed many arrangements such as corsages,
boutonnieres, western line designs, and many different vase arrangements. A part from the
floriculture team I was also enrolled in the Floriculture class where I have learned more in depth
knowledge of the floral industry and its history. Being a part of this floral class I have
constructed and sold Fall Center Pieces and Garlands and Wreaths for Christmas. I have a very
strong grasp on the floral industry and what it takes to work as a floral clerk.
