I am writing to give my full endorsement and recommendation of Rachel
Solomon to the undergraduate Education Program at the University of Maryland. I had Ms. Solomon in my EDPS 210 course. She can easily be considered one of the best students. She was an engaging and dedicated student with excellent communication skills. I am certain that she will be able excel. Please give her the opportunity to work and learn in your program. In class I require extensive class participation and writing assignments. Ms. Solomon consistently turned in all assignments on time; completed with thorough summaries of the material and insightful analysis. This requires her to digest complex and technical primary source reading assignments and apply the material to her interests. Ms. Solomon spoke up often in class with questions and comments. She always came to class prepared and ready to share her comments and learn from others. Ms. Solomon made class a better learning environment. She also was a valuable participant in group activities. When asked to do impromptu group presentations Ms. Solomon was a leader in organizing other students and helping everyone to be able to participate. She brought out the talents of others by initiating discussions with them and helping everyone in her group to understand difficult concepts. As I have gotten to know Ms. Solomon I have learned that she has a wide variety of interests and activities. She is involved in service, teaching, sport and professional development activities. Ms. Solomon seems the ideal individual to contribute to and learn from the Education Program. Please give her the chance to forward her academic goals. Sincerely, Adjunct Instructor UMD
