and later, since the 1960s, the massive bodies with PbZn-Ag mineralization have been exploited.
The complexity of the Andean metallogeny as well as
the regional geological frame has originated diverse ore-types with mineralization of Cu-Pb-Zn-AgAu- Bi in veins, mantos, massive cuerpos, cuerpos in karstic vugs and replacement bodies and also, within the volcanic neck disseminated porphyry-copper type mineralization with disseminated gold in an epithermal volcanic environment. In the surroundings of Cerro de Pasco are found other evidences of mineralization of various types, such as Rica Cerrea, Venencocha and Santa Rosa (Oxides). Other prospects in the surroundings of Pasco comprise the recently acquired old mine El Pilar, the Oxide outcrops at Uliachn and Yanamate. Venencocha (Au) Venencocha comprises a possible high sulphidation epithermal deposit, located to the North of the Cerro de Pasco volcanic neck, where a gossan 200 meters by 50 meters has been emplaced, with average grades of 0.9gr Au/mt. within central vuggy silicates, as well as the existence of structures like breccias and ring faults with moderately anomalous grades of gold. During the first trimester of year 2008, we will start diamond drilling to evaluate the possible auriferous potential of the sector in depth. Rica Cerrea (Cu) In the same volcanic pipe evidences of porphyry-type copper mineralization are located. Geological and geochemistry prospecting is currently being carried out in this area. Santa Rosa (Oxides) (Au-Ag) Santa Rosa is located on the South side of the Volcanic pipe where gold and silver mineralization is evident with grades of 0.85gr Au/mt. and 3 oz Ag/mt. With reserves of around eleven million tonnes found. This important ore is associated with auriferous quartz veins within oxidized silicified volcanics with marked zones of vuggy quartz. This has been evaluated over
