In these three magazine covers, only one portrays

heterosexual bias, or heterosexism. Heterosexism is


basically the belief that everyone is or should be
heterosexual. The GT and G3 magazine covers do not
present this belief, however. Both of these covers show
gay people or phrases representing them, such as the two
gay men on the cover of GT and the large bisexual in the
background of the G3 magazine. The seventeen
magazine, however, is one made for girls, containing
beauty tips and articles about girl power. It also contains,
in this specific example, posters of Hot Guys! with No
Shirts! This puts up the assumption that a gay girl is not
the target of the magazine cover.
