Human Cell
A human cell has genetic material
contained in the cell nucleus and in the
mitochondria.
The mitochondrial genome is a circular
DNA molecule distinct from the nuclear
DNA.
Although the mitochondrial DNA is very
small compared to nuclear chromosomes,
it codes for 13 proteins involved in
mitochondrial energy production.
Tissue
Is a cellular organizational level
intermediate between cells and a
complete organism.
Is an ensemble of similar cells from the
same origin that together carry out a
specific function.
Organ
is a collection of tissues joined in a
structural unit to serve a common function.
There is a main tissue, parenchyma, and
"sporadic" tissues, stroma. The main
tissue is the one that is unique for the
specific organ.
Systems
Is a group of organs that work together to
perform a certain task.
Common systems, such as those present
in mammals and other animals, seen in
human anotomy, are those such as the
circulatory system,the respiratory system
and the nervous system.
Organism
An organism may be either unicellular or,
as in the case of humans, comprise many
trillions of cells grouped into specialized
tissues and organs.
The term multicellular describes any
organism made up of more than one cell.
An organism may be either a prokaryote
or a eukaryote.
