    The senior debates were a project where a group of four students picked a debatable political topic. For two months each team would have the time to research and find support and information to support their claim. At the end of the two months the pairs would debate in front of class for at least an entire class period to convince other students that their stance on the claim was the correct one. After winning my debate after much studying and hours of researching it made me feel proud of myself and my partner.

    assignments.Outofthemanyprojectsthatweregiventomeandotherfellowseniorsthereisone
    thatgivesmegreatsenseofpride.Thatprojectwouldhavetobetheseniordebates.

    Thedebateswereaprojectwhereagroupoffourstudentspickedadebatablepolitical

    topictowhichtheycoulddebateontoseewhosupportedtheirstanceonthetopicbetter.The
    groupoffourwouldfirstdividetheirgroupintopairsoftwo.Eachpairwouldthenpicktheir
    stanceontheirtopic,forexample"criminalsshouldsubmittheirDNAtotheNationalDatabase
    tobeusedbypolice,"onepairwouldopposeandonepairwouldapprove.Fortwomonthseach
    teamwouldhavethetimetoresearchandfindsupportandinformationfromliableresourcesto
    supporttheirclaim.Attheendofthetwomonthsthepairswoulddebateinfrontofclassforat
    leastanentireclassperiodtoconvinceotherstudentsinthatclassthattheirstanceontheclaim
    wasthecorrectone.Afterthedebatingoccursfellowstudentswhoarenotdebatingwouldpick
    thewinnerofthedebatebyhowconvincingthepairwas.

    Afterwinningmydebateaftermuchstudyingandhoursofresearchingitmademefeel

    proudofmyselfandmypartner.Knowingthatallofourhardworkanddedicationhaspayedoff
    mademerealizedthatthroughdeterminationandhardworkIcanachieveanythingthatIputmy

    heartinto.Thisexperiencehashelpedmespeakmorecomfortablyandhavetheconfidenceto
    speakinfrontofpeople.
