Item That Best Represents Me: DAP
DAP A Leader
My strengths of my Item That Best Represents Me paper are my usage of rhetorical
devices and transition words. I used similes, metaphors, and different points of views to support
my thesis. In addition, I used transition words, such as first, second, for example, and in
conclusion. Another strength of my paper was my ability to incorporate my voice into my paper
by providing my opinions and thoughts. My weaknesses of my paper are my incorrect formatting
and my repetition of the word I. For example, I said, The first method for estimating the
intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him Niccolo Machiavelli without
including anything to lead into it.
There are parts of my paper that I like and dislike. I enjoy the part when I talk about the
literal part of a ruler when I said, A ruler consists of twelve inches, thirty-one centimeters, or
three hundred and five millimeters. I thought I was being very clever because I took the literal
meaning of a ruler. In addition, I liked my use of a simile when I said, A ruler is like a
skyscraper, standing high above its surroundings. I like my use of compound and complex
sentences. I do not like the end of my first paragraph because I could not find a formal way to
describe how I am taller than most people. Therefore, I ended up saying, I am a ruler because I
help people succeed, and I am tall and thin like a ruler.
