Aloha mai kkou,

It is with great pleasure and deep admiration that I write this letter of recommendation for Amy
Rorabaugh. I have known Amy for two semesters; a relationship that started with her as a
student in my Assessments course. Throughout the two semesters, I watched Amy succeed in all
she does and persevere regardless of challenges faced.
Amy demonstrated her drive to succeed through her thoughtful participation and exceptional
questioning in our daily discussions. Her contributions to those discussions helped to advance
the thinking of her classmates and to promote further inquiry on topics of interest. Amy takes
the time to internalize the content, works to relate the content to her current situation, and applies
her new understanding to her work at her school. Her drive to succeed is clearly demonstrated in
Amys continual pursuit of knowledge, and she will harness that drive to help her continue that
success in the classroom.
At Chaminade University, Amy was also a member of the Womens Soccer Program. As a
student-athlete, Amy had to work twice as hard to ensure that her school work did not suffer due
to any of her commitments to her athletics. While it was challenging, Amy successfully
navigated the demands of school and the demands of athletics by consistently communicating
with me regarding her absences and by utilizing all of the available resources to ensure that her
work continued to be of the quality I expected.
Amy has shown her commitment and dedication to her academic career and goals. She has the
knowledge, skills, and experience to succeed as an educator. She truly exemplifies the best of
Chaminade University, and she strives to live its values and mission everyday.
