ThenthePerfectFathersenthislightthroughBarbelonandkindledwithinherwombaspark.Injoyshe
broughtforththespark,whoislikethelightofhisfatherbutlessthanhislightbecausenospiritcan
equalhisgreatness.HeiscalledAutogene,thatistheOnlyBegottenOne,becausehewasbegottenof

SamaellongedforthebrightnessofShekhinashinningforthfromthefaceofhismother.Thesamelight
glowedwithinhimbutlayconcealedbeneaththeveilofhisignorance.Whenhecametohismaturity
desiremovedinhisnetherparts.Helustedbutknewnottheshapeofhislust.Hewanderedwith
lonelinessthroughtheemptykingdomofhisowncreation.

Turningituponhimselfhesoughthisreflectioninthefieryfurnaceofhisheartandtwisteditasthe
pottertwistshisclayintoasemblanceoftheshinningformofBarbelon.Hefashionedaconsortliketo
hismotherinallherlinimentsthatissuedforthfromhisleftside.HernameisLilith,shewhowalksin
beautyclotheswiththeshadowsoftheMoon.

themountainsnows.YourthighsarepillarsofmarblethatguardtheentrancetotheTempleof

Serpent,becausehefallsuponherfromtheheavensasalightningstrokebutsherisesslowlyfromthe
earthtoreceivehimasaclingingvine.

Wheretheirloinsmetaroseamightychurningandswirlingofthefirmamentlikeuntotherevolvingofa
vastmillstone.OutofthevortexofthisturningchaoticmasssprangforthaDragonwithoutendor
beginning.Itsscalesareasdropsofblood,itsbreathfiery.Theeyesofthebeastareshutupintoslits
afterthewayofserpentsthatdwellinthedepthsoftheAbyss.NordoesitseetheSunbydaynorthe
Moonbynight.

Allitsblindwillwasbentupondesire.ItcoileditselfthreeandonehalftimesbetweenSamaeland
Lilith,norcouldtheycopulatewitheachotherdirectlybutonlythroughthecoilsoftheSightlessWorm.

purelightofhisMotherthatdwellswithinhimandwasthesourceofhispower.Thefirewentforthand
mingledwiththedarknessandbecameweak,butthepurelightremainedwithinhim.

Samaelsavouredthesplendorofhisworksandgrewdrunkonthemagnificenceofhiscreations.Tothe
heightsofHeavenandthedepthoftheAbysshelookeduponhisowndomain.Allthatfellintohis
surveywashistomakeormar.Hesawnootherworlds.Hedidnotknowofthecloudoflightcreated
byBarbelontoconcealhimfromherholyconsortAutogene.HeremainedignorantoftheperfectSpirit
anditseverflowingfountainoflightwater.

InhismadnessSamaelcriedout,IamtheonlyGod,thereisnootherGodbesideme.Thusdidhe

come.

ThelusterofBarbelondimmed.Shefeltthelightwithinherdiminishandsawthecausewiththe
foreknowledgegivenherasagiftbytheinvisibleSpirit.Theblasphemyandwickednessofherillformed
sonshadowedherface.Shebecametarnishedbecauseherconsorthadnotagreedwithheractof
bringingforth.Inshameshehidherselfunderamantleofdarkness.Seekingforgetfulnessshe
wonderedtoandfro.ShefearedtoreturntoherAeonyetbitterlyrepentedofhererror.

ThewholeofHeavenheardherweepinggustysighsofregret.HerprayerswerebornetotheInvisible
Spirit.WithinfinitemercytheSpiritthatisVirginforgaveherandbathedherintheWatersofLife.Her
consort,divineAutogene,cametoherthroughtheplenitudetorestoreherbrightness.Shewastaken
abovehim,eventotheNinthSphere,todwellwiththePerfectSourceandbecomerenewed.

TheAeonofAeonslookeddownupontheworksandSamaelanddisapproved,evenasafatherfrowns
uponthewickednessofhischild.ThroughtheBlindDragonhehadgainedgreatpowerbothtomake
andtounmake.Inthevanityofhisarrogancehehadyetuseditonlytocreate.Lestheturnthecoilsof
theDragonuponthemselvesanduseitspowertodestroy,theFatherofAllsenttheAngelofLightAeon,
whosenameisArmozel,tosmitetheWormwithhisfierysword.

ArmozelenteredthekingdomofSamaelunseenandapproachedeventothesleepingplacewherehe
layentwinedwithhisconsort.Samaelsawhimnot,forthedrunkennessofdesirewasuponhim.The
coilsoftheRedDragonchurnedbetweentheirloinsandspatoutanunendingstreamofmighty
demons.ThenArmozelreachedwiththeflamingbladeofhisswordbetweentheirwrithingbodiesand
maimedtheDragoninhishinderparts.HecastratedtheWormsothatitcouldneithermakenor
unmake.


ThecoilsoftheDragonceasedtomill.Nomorecreaturesflewupfromitschaos.Samaelturnedfrom
hisconsortwithacryofrage.Lilithalsocriedout,butherswasabittercry.Armozelleftthemwith
theirbackstouching.NordidSamaelseehimdepart,forthelightwasveiledfromhiseyes.Withoutthe
bindingpoweroftheDragontheycouldnolongerjointogether.Eachlayimperfectandalone.Their
lustburnedandwasnotquenched.Theyroseupandpartedandfledeachfromthesightoftheother.

Lilithwanderedintothemountainsbeatingherbreastandgnashingherteethbecausetheemptiness
insideherremainedunfilled.ShecameeventothehighestboundaryofthekingdomofSamael.While
shestoodlookingafar,thecloudsthatobscuretheedgesofthefirmamentrolledawayandrevealedthe
undersideofthewatersthatencircletheearth.Lightilluminatedthewatersandmadethemclear.The
rootsofthemountainstrembled.Thundershookthepeaks.

ForthefulfillmentofhisowndesigntheMotherFatherofallcausedtheimageofGeradamastoshine
throughthebottomofthewaters.Hisfacewasahumanface,andhisformahumanform.Avoiceof
triumphrangdownfromthehighestAeons,BeholdtheworkthatisMan.Lilithgazedinraptureathis
heavenlyimage,wonderingmuchattheharmonyofhispartsandthegraceofhisproportions.Lust

Shecamedownfromthemountainsandgatheredtogetherrottingleavesandmudandslime,the
mingleditwithothercorruptionsandmoldeditintothepatternseenintheWatersofHeaven.With
infinitecaresheroundeditslimbsandpainteditscountenance.Intoitsmothsheputivory.Intotheeye
socketsshesetpearls.Seaweedshedrapedoveritsboldcrown,andbitsofshellsshepressedintothe
endsofitsfingersandtoes.Betweenitsthighsshefittedthelegboneofagoat.

Shestretchedherselfupontheimageandpresseditintoherbreastsandsetherlipsoveritsmouth.No
warmtharosetosustainherlust.TheimageofManlaycoldandstill.Shelackedthedivinesparkto

sentdowntheangelArmozeltocounselher.Hecametoherinthemidstofhervexationandwhispered

Theywroughttogetherandawakenedinhimtheheavinessofneedsanddesiresthatisremembranceof
thebody,butforgetfulnessofthespirit.ThethoughtsofManbecamedistracted.Hiseyeswereturned
awayfromthesparkofBarbelonthatglowedwithinhim.TheArchonsmadeforhimaplaceofkeeping
andsethimwithinit,andcalleditParadise.Theytoldhim,Eatabundantlyofthefruitsofthetrees,
takepleasureundertheSun,forthefruitsoftheirtreesarebitterpoisonandtheirpleasuresare
deceptionsanddeath.Inthesethingsisforgetfulnessofthespirit.Sotheyintoxicatedhimwithluxury.

InthemidstofParadisegrewatreetheArchonscalledtheTreeofLife.VerilyitisatreeofGehenna,
whoseleavesareliesandwhoserootsdrinkcorruption.Itsseedsaredesire,itsflowerssinanditsfruit
isdeath.Theshadowofthetreeishate.Itsproutsindarknessandthosewhoeatofitsfruitgointo
darknessandintoGehenna.

InthemidstofParadisegrewasecondtreethattheArchonscalledtheTreeofKnowledgeofGoodand

WhenAdamawokehelookeduponthewomanandrecognizedinherhisownimage.Shewasbornout
