Financial Markets

Finance is a pillar of civilized society. It is a structure through which we do things,

at least on a large scale of things. It is about allocating resources through space
and time, our limited resources that we have in the world. It is about
incentivizing people to do productive things. It is about sponsoring ventures that
bring together a lot of people and making sure that people are fairly treated, that
they contribute constructively and that they get a return for doing that and its
about managing risks, that anything we do in life is uncertain. Anything big or
important that we do is uncertain. This is the opinion of professor shiller about
the financial markets. As per him, it is in the details that things happen.
In this course, he is going to talk about the banking, insurance and many others.
Sometimes, people dont include insurance as part of the finance, but it should
be included as part of finance because it is all about the securities, about futures
markets, about derivatives markets and also it is going to be about the financial
crises and it is also about the future.
