Description of Activity:
Clean Mud

Opening Question/Invitation/Prop/Finger Play:


I need your help to make some mud!
You will have a very important job! I need your
help counting the scoops, tearing up toilet paper
and stirring. When we are all done making the
mud, guess what we get to do!!!
PLAY IN IT!!

Procedure:
I will invite all of the children to stand at a
table where there will be a large bin. They will
need to stand around the table. We will all
work together to make the clean mud. I will
encourage children to describe what they feel
and encourage new words. They will all have
some toilet paper to shred and will take turns
mixing. They will have time to play and
manipulate the mud. I will give each child a
bowl of the mud to play in.

One Large Bin
12 bowls
4 mixing spoons
3 bars of Ivory grated
2 rolls of toilet paper
Pitcher of hot water
2 measuring cups
An extra open table

Potential Guidance Techniques Needed:


If children want to continue playing with their
mud and I will have another open table so every
child has a spot to sit down.
