Act Summaries
Prologue: On the first day of the school year, Persephone begs
Demeter to not attend boarding school the entire year, but
Demeter wants her to be safe and denies her pleas.
Act 1: Persephone goes to her classes while daydreaming about the
outside world. She spots a boy outside the window during class,
and later, during lunch, she sees him again. Curious, she calls out
to him and he tells her his name is Hades. As he offers to show
her the outside world, Demeter calls Persephone and she learns
that class has already started. Hades takes her hand and they run
out of the school grounds.
Act 2:They walk to the creek, where Persephone is amazed by her
surroundings. Hades tells her about his past, and Persephone
realizes the beauty of the outside world and life.
Act 3: Meanwhile, Demeter is complaining to Zeus about letting
their daughter go missing. Zeus gets Hermes, Persephones brother,
to go bring her back. Hermes finds her and Hades at the bridge,
and takes Persephone back, to Hades dismay.
Conclusion: Demeter is extremely angry at Persephone, but when
she realizes how much her daughter has matured, she agrees to
make the school year only 8 months instead of 12.
