Scope: This policy applies to unclassified, unrepresented employees for the
period of coverage noted above.
Purpose and Objectives: (brief description of why the plan is being developed,
conditions, critical organization objectives and how they link to the plan).
To motivate and reward employees who exceed specific performance
expectations & measures. A bonus up to 6% of base pay in addition to merit or
across-the-board salary adjustments may be awarded.
Eligibility: (organizational unit and individual participants)
Unclassified, unrepresented employees in (organizational unit), who have a
performance review rating that exceeds expectations of performance. Employees
must have a current performance evaluation on record. Please certify the
existence of a current performance evaluation on the Personnel Change Request
Performance Measures: (Describe key attributes of plan and principles to which the
plan should adhere).
To reward performance consistent with the goals of the department, division, and
the university.
Method of funding: (e.g., self-funded from the financial value of the improved
performance, or budgeted)
This Performance Bonus Plan will be funded by the department.
Target Plan Payout: (Payout by performance measure)
Bonus payout may be distributed at anytime during FY07-08 by submitting a
Personnel Change Request. If timing and/or number of affected employees are
known, please indicate here.
Payout Criteria: (Bonus will be paid out as one time, lump sum cash payment, up to
6%; what is the anticipated timing of payout)

Distribution of Incentive earnings: Incentive will be distributed as a one-time lump


sum payment during normal payroll processing

Renewal of the bonus plan for Unclassified, Unrepresented Employees will require
Compensations review and approval.
