IMPROPER DEVELOPMENT Senator for New South Wales, Deborah ONeill has today announced her commitment to stand with the residents of Killcare against a major new development threatening to spoil the amenity of the area, with the project being spearheaded by controversial local developer John Singleton. The proposed development would see the construction of 50 home units on environmentally sensitive land on the Killcare Plateau, currently zones as E4 - Environmental Living This is the height of improper development, and shows just how out of touch John Singleton is with the local community. The current zoning laws, which have only been in force since 2014, say that any developments on this land must be designed so that it does not have an adverse effect on the environmental qualities of the land. When you stick 50 new homes into an area like Killcare, its going to affect the environment, and it is going to put significant extra pressure on local water, sewerage, traffic, and shops, and that is just not fair to local residents. Senator ONeill. The project will require special consideration from Gosford City Council before it can proceed so as to accommodate the scale and nature of the development, a process Senator ONeill says should be watched closely. Already a number of council officers and councillors have had to declare a pecuniary interest in this proposal because of their relationship with Singo. John Singleton has donated heavily to a number of Councillors and they wouldnt be on Council if it wasnt for him. Locals need to watch this process closely to make sure that all the required checks and balances are adhered to and to make sure that wealthy developers dont just turn the coast into their own personal playground at the cost of every other resident.
